25 years’ service for Resi Schenk

Resi Schenk started working at the Rijksuniversiteit Limburg’s Faculty of
Economic Sciences on 1 January 1989. On 14 October 1991, she joined the Faculty
of General Sciences where she was responsible for establishing the Office of
Student Affairs for the brand new Arts and Sciences programme. In those early
years Resi, a true pioneer, built up the Office of Student Affairs from scratch.

At first she did everything herself. From 1 January 1994 the
programme became part of the newly established Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and
as the programme grew, so did the range of tasks of the Office.
New
colleagues were recruited; Resi continued in the role of secretary to the Board
of Examiners. When it was decided in 2001 that the function of
Internationalisation Coordinator would be part of the Office of Student Affairs,
Resi took on this role from 1 March 2001.

Resi is a much valued and
committed colleague, a woman of integrity, who puts all her heart in what she
stands for. On behalf of the faculty I would like to thank Resi for her
commitment from the pioneering days in the nineties until today and congratulate
her warmly on her 25th anniversary of service.
