Thomas Huddleston will defend his PhD dissertation ‘Naturalisation in Action; How nationality laws work in practice across Europe’ in the Aula, Minderbroedersberg 4-6, on Wednesday 18 September at 16.00. His supervisors are Prof. Maarten Vink and Prof. Gerard-René de Groot.

Mosaïek Magazine is Recruiting Board Members for 2019-2020

Mosaïek Magazine is recruiting bachelor’s students to be board members for the 2019-2020 academic year. We edit student submissions of writings and art and regularly publish them online or in our triannual print editions. Additionally, we host events including parties, book-swaps, and workshops meant to promote our own magazine, cultural activities, and the exchange of ideas. Full Professorship for Lies Wesseling

As from 1 September, Lies Wesseling, special chair in ‘Cultural Memory, Gender and Diversity’ has been promoted to full professor. Her work will continue to focus on questions of cultural memory addressed from the perspective of gender and diversity and more particularly on the cultural remembrance of child removal in the colonies by contemporary postcolonial Western societies.

FASoS welcomes Prof. Mathieu Segers

Following the end of his mandate as dean of University College Maastricht, Prof. Mathieu Segers, chair in contemporary European history and European integration, will be joining the History Department of FASoS as from 1 October 2019.
