Fifteen years of European Studies. Fifteen years in which Europe has changed in many ways. From Big Bang Enlargement to the financial crisis and, of course, Brexit. The latter has marked the beginning of a period of reflection and intense debate about the EU’s future. Do you want to contribute to this debate and have your writing published online? Check out the #BAES15 student blog competition.
We would like to invite you to put your ideas about the future of the EU on paper. Your piece should ideally:
● Be between 600 and 750 words long.
● Be submitted with an appropriate eye-catching title and a short summary of your central argument.
● Be submitted with a short bio and picture.
● Be accessible, with academic language or policy jargon kept to a minimum and explained when unavoidable.
● Be communicated in a straightforward and readable manner. This means being grammatically succinct and using active and engaging language (first person is preferable).
● Contain links to academic articles, news features or related blog posts where appropriate.

The best piece will be published on the blog pages of the Centre for European Research in Maastricht (CERiM) and E-International Relations. The jury consists of Dr. Johan Adriaensen (coordinator CERiM) and Dr. Patrick Bijsmans (curator of the E-International Relations blog section ‘Brexit: A European Perspective’).
