Klaartje Peters has published a book ‘Een doodgewoon kabinet’ in which she discusses the Dutch ‘Purple’ government during the period 1994-2002. The Dutch ‘Purple’ government under Prime Minister Wim Kok was a coalition of social democrats and liberals, excluding Christian democrats.
The colour ‘purple’ is derived from the combination of the colour of the social democrats (red) and liberals (blue).
