Call for nominations ‘Academy of Europe’

Are you or do you know a researcher at FASoS who would like to become a member of Academia Europaea?

Send your nominations to research-fasos@maastrichtuniversity.nl no later than Thursday 20 February 2020.

Academia Europaea is a European non-governmental association acting as an Academy whose members collectively aim to promote learning, education and research. The Academia wishes to elect into membership scientists and scholars of international distinction, irrespective of nationality, citizenship, gender, location or discipline. The primary criterion for membership is “sustained academic excellence in the candidate’s field” (2009 Regulations, Section 2 etc). Candidature of scholars working at the interface of disciplines or in non-traditional fields are especially welcome.

Kindly note: Nominations for membership to Academia Europaea must be made by two existing members. One of the two nominators must also be resident in a different country from that of the candidate. If you are considering membership, we urge you to review the list of members (available here) for potential nominators.

Full details regarding the Academia Europaea nomination- and election process can be found on their website. Scholars accepting the invitation into membership are expected to make an annual payment to help the work of the Academy as far as personal circumstances allow. Acceptance of membership is considered an honour.

If you have any questions about the selection within FASoS, please contact k.vanhonk@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
