Call for Applications: Jean Monnet Network Summer School, 15-28 July

The EU Centre, together with its partners in the Jean Monnet Network on Challenges to Multiculturalism and Multilateralism (JMN-CMM), are organising a 2-week Summer Programme in Brussels and Jakarta in July 2018 to introduce students to the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Applications for the Summer Programme are now open. The deadline for applications for the programme and the scholarship is 30 March.

Internship at the Cuypershuis, Roermond, on architect Pierre Cuypers

The important architect and entrepreneur Pierre Cuypers (1827-1921) played a great role in Dutch architecture, as builder of the Rijksmuseum and Central Station in Amsterdam, and of many churches and civil buildings everywhere in the country. His work as architect has been studied, but not his success as entrepreneur of a large architectural bureau and design office (sculpture etc.). The internship is focused on that less-studied aspect.

Deadline extended for NWO programme PhDs in the Humanities 2018

Please be informed that the Graduate School has decided to extend the deadline period for the internal FASoS selection for the NWO programme PhDs in the Humanities from Friday 8 December 2017 to Monday 8 January 2018, 12.00. In order to apply, please check the FASoS Selection Procedure, now including the annex ‘Tips for the Applicants and Students writing Draft Proposals for the NWO PhD Projects in the Humanities Programme’.

Job opening: part-time FASoS Research Assistant for EU Parliament Study

Dr Giselle Bosse, Political Science Department, is looking for a part-time research assistant for an EU Parliament Study on Human Rights in Belarus, for the period December 2017 – February 2018. The assistant will provide background research for a policy paper on ‘Human rights in Belarus: the EU’s role since 2016’, requested by the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human Rights. Internship at Dutch embassy in Vienna

Dutch students in the final phase of their master studies at a Dutch university are invited to apply for an internship at the Dutch Embassy in Vienna, during the period from 1 February 2018 to 31 July 2018. Please send your application – in the form of a letter of motivation and a CV – to no later than Sunday 19 November 2017. Suitable candidates have to be able to speak Dutch, German and English.
