  • Monday-Thursday: regular opening hours
  • On Fridays and Saturdays: 8.30 – 22.00
  • On Sundays: 12.00 – 20.00

Library information for new students

The dedicated staff of the University Library is ready to welcome all newly arrived students. The library is not just a well-equipped study environment but also an attractive meeting place for students. As a student, you will have access to the library buildings as well as the Online Library, where all our electronic journals, books and databases are stored.

Book fair @ UM Library, on 11 May

On Saturday 11 May the University Library will organise a book fair from 11.00 – 17.00 @ the Inner City Library entrance hall (Grote Looiersstraat 17).

Are you looking for study material for your Bachelor or Master? Perhaps UM Library has some for you! We offer 150 meter in the field of psychology, neuroscience, law, economy, health, medicine, life science and engineering, to be sold for a bargain between €1 and €2.

Libsearch and Inter Library Loan workshop, on 24 May

Maastricht University Library offers a workshop on Libsearch and Inter Library Loan, on Friday 24 May from 13.30-15.30.

This course offers students and staff the opportunity to learn strategies that aim at increasing the likelihood of finding the book/article they need within LibSearch, and being able to make an Inter Library Loan request.

Newspaper database LexisNexis will become Nexis Uni

As of 1 April 2019, the newspaper database Lexis Nexis (access is offered to students and staff by the Maastricht University Library) has been renewed and will continue under the name Nexis Uni.

MABP 2019: Taboo out in the open, 15-17 March

The Maastricht Antiquarian Book and Print Fair (MABP) 2019 is back from 15 to 17 March, this year focusing on the theme Erotica. The booth of Center Céramique, the Regional Historic Center Limburg (RHCL) and the University Library will stand amidst notable antiquarians in the Sint Jans Church.

Come and take a look at the discoveries made by three Maastricht University students from FASoS in the treasure-trove of Maastricht institutional archives.

What changed?
Have you found a title, chapter or article through the UM catalogue LibSearch that is not part of our collection? You can request the item(s) using the button in the search result to order the title, chapter and/or article from another library.
