Bilderdijk lecture by Prof. Maaike Meijer, on Friday 13 December

On Friday 13 December, Prof. Maaike Meijer will give the Bilderdijk lecture 2019 ‘Triumf! ik ben voldaan, ik zal onsterfelijk zijn’ (in Dutch).

This biennial lecture takes place at the Grote of St. Bavokerk at de Grote Markt in Haarlem. The lecture starts at 16.30 but doors open at 16.00. Tickets cost €5.

PhD Defence Claudia Egher, on Wednesday 4 December

Claudia Egher will defend her PhD dissertation ‘Mental Health Online. The enactment of expertise on bipolar disorder on American and French online platforms’ on Wednesday 4 December at 12.00 in the Aula, Minderbroedersberg 4-6. You are cordially invited to attend.

Movie screening Parasite; introduction by Wiebe Nauta, on 4 December

On Wednesday 4 December from 19.30-22.00 FASoS is, in collaboration with Lumière cinema, organising a screening of the award-winning South Korean movie Parasite.

Parasite is about an umemployed family that integrates slowly in a wealthy family. Wiebe Nauta will introduce the film by discussing some of the main challenges South Koreans face in contemporary South Korean society such as growing inequality.

Tickets cost €5 for students and €6.50 for staff.
