Observing the Maastricht Debate: Post-Debate Survey

On 29 April, the Maastricht Debate took place among the leading candidates. We would like to invite you to complete a post-debate survey.

We know surprisingly little what effect debates among leading candidates have on voters and especially on young or first time voters. Your answers will help us to assess this. So please help us and fill in the questionnaire online.

GDS alumnus nominated for LOVA thesis award

In celebration of the 40 years of LOVA, an active network of engaged feminist anthropologists within and outside the Netherlands, the jury has awarded four theses from the nominated theses.

One of the nominees is Isadora Cardoso Vasconcelos, a GDS graduate, with her thesis ‘Gender and Climate Change in Pathways of Development Encounters of National Policies with Gender Justice and Climate Justice’.

The award ceremony takes place on 10 May.

New Mosaïek issue to be published in May

The Mosaïek team is proud to announce that the new Mosaïek magazine will be published and up for sale in the beginning of May! This magazine’s theme is “Losing ground”. Once again we worked with many talented writers and artists at Maastricht University to bring you a must-read magazine.

Interview with MA ES Alumnus Joost van de Akker

In 2018, European Studies alum Joost van den Akker became one of the regional ministers of Limburg, “the most international province of the Netherlands”. In his eyes, the university is a “European musketeer” whose pursuit of internationalisation and Europe is a winning model. “It’s an example to all of Limburg.”

Call for Applications PhD programme Tech4Culture

The University of Torino, with the support of the European Commission and the banking foundation Compagnia di San Paolo, has launched ‘PhD Technology Driven Sciences: Technologies for Cultural Heritage (Tech4Culture)’, a new doctoral programme in ‘Heritage Sciences’, specifically focused on technologies applied to Cultural Heritage.

The second Call for Applications is now open and the deadline is 7 May 2019.

Mosaïek‘s spring/summer edition is coming out in April and we are currently looking for submissions. If you would like to contribute to the magazine, email us at mosaiek-submissions@maastrichtuniversity.nl.

Need a little inspiration? This edition’s theme is ‘Losing Grounds’. What does this mean? Anything you want it to. Losing grounds does not have to be something negative.

UM Career Services publishes your vacancy free of costs in the UM Vacancy board. This way more students will read your advert and can quickly reply. Companies also post new vacancies here for free every day. The vacancies vary from student jobs to starters jobs and internships.

In order to post your vacancy, you need to request a login and then fill in your advert. You can get a login by sending an email to careerservices@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
