Onallia Esther Osei, Valentina Mazzucato & Karlijn Haagsman publish articles

Based on her PhD research, Onallia Esther Osei, together with Valentina Mazzucato and Karlijn Haagsman, has published in two renowned journals: one in Social Inclusion and one in Global Networks.

Both articles are about Ghanaian youth living in Ghana whose parents have migrated overseas and look at how Ghanaian youth shape their own futures.

Next week last FASoS Weekly + guidelines UMployee

Next week, on Thursday 3 November, the last FASoS weekly for staff members will be sent out.

As of Tuesday 8 November, we will be moving to our new intranet: UMployee. All information that was usually communicated via the FASoS Weekly will then be found here. Just like the FASoS Weekly, you will still receive a weekly email showing an overview of all interesting messages and events at FASoS and UM, depending on which groups you are member of.

Yleen Simonis new Board secretary

As of 1 December 2022, Yleen Simonis will take up the position of Board Secretary, following up on Hannie Spronck, who has retired. Yleen will be available from Monday until Thursday and can be found in GG90-92, room C1.01.

Yleen is secretary to the Faculty Board and the Faculty Council; she draws up and manages the agenda, takes minutes, and follows up on action points. Yleen is also your contact point for the Board: if you have any questions, concerns, thoughts or ideas, make sure to address these to Yleen. Also, she is the secretary of the Complaints Committee and coordinates the procedure related to the establishment of professorial chairs.

#MeTooAcademia: The Learning Curve theatre performance, on 12 December

On 12 December at 19.00 at Theater aan het Vrijthof, The UM Platform for Research Ethics and Integrity invites you to the performance “#Metoo in Academia: The Learning Curve”, a 40-minute play about (sexual) intimidation and abuse of power in a university context.

Looking for helpers and tools for the FASoS garden

The new FASoS garden team is looking for people to join and help keep the green spaces tidy.

Are you a gardening enthusiast and want to spend 1-2 hours every two weeks to contribute to gardening at FASoS, then send an email to sustainability-fasos@maastrichtuniversity.nl before Thursday 3 November.
