Changed conditions for University Fund Limburg (SWOL) proposals

The University Fund Limburg (UFL, also known as SWOL) awards grants to scientific projects to promote research and education at Maastricht University, stimulate international cooperation and intensify the relationship of the university with her social and local environment. Recently UFL changed its conditions for funding scientific projects up to €10.000. UFL organises four rounds a year, the next ones are at 18 May and 7 September 2018.

Then most important changes are:

  • Bringing in matching funds was already appreciated, but is now a condition;
  • Interdisciplinary research is no longer mentioned explicitely, but has been replaced by interfaculty research – which equals interdisciplinary research and its avenues;
  • UM research that takes place on the four Limburg campuses, and in supporting and facilitating innovative study programmes;
  • Special attention is paid to researchers who earned their PhD <6 years ago.
