Charles van Leeuwen has been appointed Visiting Professor in Dutch Language and Literature at the University of Padua (Italy) for the next academic year. With about 50 bachelor’s and master’s students enrolled in this programme, Padua is the only Italian university offering this field of study at undergraduate and graduate levels. Charles van Leeuwen will schedule his teaching in Maastricht in the first semester and his activities in Italy in the spring semester.
This special visiting professorship has been launched in order to reinforce the international dimension of education and research at the University of Padova. Dr Charles van Leeuwen holds a PhD in Dutch Language & Literature and worked earlier as Lecturer and Visiting Professor in Dutch Language and Literature at the universities of Bologna, Siena, Louvain-la-Neuve and Namur.
