Who are the up-and-coming poets and novelists in town? What’s the writing scene like in Maastricht? Find out on Friday 29 January at De Brandweer, when the graduates of Maastricht University’s minor in Creative Writing give a showcase reading. A special issue of Mosaiek magazine, featuring some of the best works produced during the minor, will be launched. Doors open at 19.00, the event starts at 19.30.
What’s that? A shiny new magazine, drinks, good company, performances of original poetry, short stories and creative translations, on a Friday night in gorgeous venue? That’s a recipe for the OPPOSITE of (Write it!) disaster! We can’t wait, and hope to see you there!
This reading wraps up 2015-2016 minor in Creative Writing: the only course of its kind in the Netherlands. After five months’ immersion in the world of creative reading and writing, this event & publication are a farewell party before sending these writers into their bright futures, where they are sure to continue developing their skills and talents.
The event takes place at 19.00 (for a 19.30 start) at De Brandweer Kantine, Capucijnenstraat 21, Maastricht. Friday 29 January. It’s bound to be an energetic and inspiring way to end the first month of 2016.
