In May, Europe will vote for the new European Parliament (EP). The Alumni Circle South of Limburg will organise a Debate Night to discuss the responsibilities of the EP, how the EP interacts with member states and most importantly, how these decisions affect you! The debate will take place in the Aula, MBB 4-6, on Thursday 8 May, 19.30.
The panel will consist of:
· Joan Muysken (Professor Emeritus of Economics)
· Sophie Vanhoonacker (Jean Monnet Professor, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences)
· David Townend (Professor of Law and Legal Philosophy in Health, Medicine and Life Sciences
· Joost van den Akker (Parliamentary Leader VVD Limburg and UM alumnus Faculty of Law, 2010)
· Jeroen Lenaers (Policy Officer CDA delegation European Parliament and UM alumnus Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, 2008)
The debate will be moderated by Teun Dekker (Doctor of Philosophy, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs/ Assistant Professor of Political Philosophy at University College Maastricht).
