Entrepreneurial Thinking for Female Researchers, on 27 February

The launch of the project ‘Entrepreneurial Thinking for Female Researchers’ will take place on Wednesday 27 February from 12.00 till 14.00. It will take the form of a Panel Discussion followed by lunch and networking. The discussion will focus on transferable (research) skills and on strategies of identifying opportunities for female researchers to integrate into the marketplace.

Please register online before 25 February.

The panellists will also share their knowledge and personal experiences on the issue of dealing with uncertainty that early-career researchers face when they want to enter the labour market. The panellists are:

  • Prof. dr. Sophie Vanhoonacker, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences
  • Mr. Oliver Olson, MBA, Senior Lecturer of Marketing & Strategy at the Maastricht School of Management
  • Mrs. Katinka Bastin, Head of the Staff Career Centre at Maastricht University
  • Dr. Tom Verthé (tbc), HR Department Head at Maastricht University

This project is part of the UM grants on Diversity & Inclusivity awarded to Dr. Dorina Baltag from the Politics Department at FASoS. Through a series of workshops on entrepreneurial thinking for female researchers together with the project partner, Ms. Adina Petre, owner of Insights (local coaching company in Maastricht), participants will be provided with hands-on experience on how to use their talents and expertise to identify opportunities in the marketplace and understand how and when to capitalise on them. The workshops on “Transferable Research Skills”, “Pitching & Storytelling” and “Marketing tools for Researchers” will take place between March and May 2019.

All UM early-career researchers who are interested to take part at the launch of the project and/or the workshops are requested to fill-in the online form before Monday 25 February. Please be informed that the project launch has limited availability.
