EuroSim Antwerp 2020: unprecedented success

Our team left Maastricht unannounced, but they are back with terrific news.

During EuroSim 2020, an international, inter-university, and transatlantic simulation of the European Union that took place in Antwerp from 5 – 9 January 2020, the FASoS team made an outstanding success.

The team of 8 students – prepared and accompanied by Jelena Stankovic, the EuroSim coordinator at FASoS – returned home with 3 out of 5 possible awards.

The faculty congratulates Sara Fornasiero, third-year BA ES student, Eric Meinecke- Schmidt and Frederic Freitag, second-year BA ES students, on their best delegate awards for their alter-ego roles.

Sara represented a Head of Bulgarian government, Borisov Boyko, in the European Council. Erik represented Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stef Blok, in the Foreign Affairs Council I, where discussions on restrictive measures on Russia took place. Frederic represented Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Sigrid Kaag, in the Foreign Affairs Council II, where discussions on restrictive measures on Iran took place.

EuroSim is organised annually by the Transatlantic Consortium for European Union Studies and Simulations (TACEUSS).
