Former Dutch Ombudsman Alex Brenninkmeijer visits FASoS

On 2 May, Alex Brenninkmeijer, the former Dutch Ombudsman (2005-2013), and current member of the European Court of Auditors (2014-) in Luxembourg, visited FASoS to discuss a research project with Paul Stephenson. Since July 2014 he has been Honorary Professor of The Rule of Law’s Institutional Aspects at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance, University of Utrecht, having previously studied at the universities of Tilburg and Groningen.

Paul also met Dr. Mira Scholten, Associate Professor at the University of Utrecht for discussions on a book project dealing with institutional issues of financial accountability and audit.

Paul is a previous holder of the Postgraduate Research Grant on European Public Finances awarded each year to encourage research in the EUI archives. The European Court of Auditors and European University Institute make available two grants each year of €5,000 each.
