  1. Stress management, on 7 February
  2. Mindfulness meditation, on 8 February
  3. Fear of failure, on 8 February
  4. Retrain your brain, on 12 February

See below for more information.

Stress management

Want to find a good balance between study and leisure time? In the stress management workshop you look for your own stress signals and you get tools to keep stress under control. You also learn in what way good time management helps you to find a better balance between studying hard and feeling well. The first stress management workshop will take place on 7 February. The workshop is given in English.

Mindfulness meditation

Mindfulness? What is it? The current mindfulness meditation stems from an ancient Buddhist practice. Mindfulness or attentiveness is the core of Buddhism.
In mindfulness meditation you learn to be present with your awareness in the here and now. You learn to be aware of your current experience in an accepting way. In this way you learn to take some distance from for example things you worry about. It makes it possible that your mind becomes calmer and that you feel more relaxed. Mindfulness meditation is a skill you can learn by practising a lot. This workshop offers a first introduction in mindfulness meditation. Afterwards you can continue practising mindfulness meditation at home. The first mindfulness meditation workshop will take place on 8 February. The workshop is given in English.

Fear of failure

Always feeling tense and nervous? Do you panic before or during tests or a presentation? Then the fear of failure training may be something for you. In four sessions you will learn to deal with your fear of failure, so that you can perform better as a student and go through life somewhat more easily.
The first fear of failure training will be given from 8 February until 1 March. The training is given in English.

Retrain your brain

The workshop Retrain your brain provides you with tools to better understand the relationship between your thoughts, behaviour and feelings, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
CBT assumes that it is not the events themselves that cause negative feelings and behaviors, but our thoughts about them. You learn to recognize thought patterns that lead to dysfunctional behavior and negative emotions. The key is to turn these thinking patterns into helping thoughts. This creates a more objective view of events. You can overcome negativity and change behavior.
The first workshop Retrain your brain will take place on 12 February. The workshop is given in English.
