The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) ‘Refugees in Science’ pilot contributes to making Dutch science and the academic labour market accessible to refugee scientists. This grant (€60.000) finances the appointment of Mr Erman Atak to Dr Bosse’s ongoing NWO project. During his one-year fellowship at FASoS, Mr Atak’s research will focus on the influence of lobby groups on EU military operation ‘Sophia’ against migrant smugglers.
The NWO ‘Refugees in Science’ pilot has been developed in consultation with The Young Academy, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and Foundation for Refugee Students UAF. NWO has awarded funding to twelve proposals.
