Important decisions and announcements FB meetings March 2018

The FASoS Faculty Board held two meetings on 7 and 21 March.

Decisions

  • The Faculty Board approved the staffing plan of the Faculty Office for the years 2017-2020.
  • The Board adopted the EERs for the academic year 2018/2019.
  • The profile report for the full chair Social and Political Philosophy has been approved.

  • The solver hours for administrative roles for the academic year 2018/2019 have been determined. This overview is published on the intranet (MyFASoS > Organisation > Faculty Board).
  • The board approved the budget for two events organised by Student Representatives: FASoS Career Orientation Day on 7 April and Faculty Drinks on 20 April.

Announcements

  • Staff support office: in 2017 a small scale pilot has run in supporting academic staff in grade administration, where both tutors and course coordinators were exempted as much as possible from administrative tasks. The pilot was successful in reaching its goals: less work for academic staff and more transparency plus low error sensitivity in the outcome. The Board agreed to a second pilot that deals with two large-scale courses having their final examination in the same week, of which one is a MECC-exam. This second pilot will take place in the first half of 2019.
