Introducing: Dorina Baltag

My name is Dorina Baltag. I have returned to FASoS as a teaching assistant in the Politics Department in March 2018. I am involved primarily in teaching in the Bachelor European Studies as well as supervision of BA and MA theses. Besides this, I will be responsible for the co-coordination of the International Relations course for bachelor students and the coordination of the Qualitative Interviewing course for the research master students.

I have also been appointed as coordinator of the EUROSIM project for 2018-2019 academic year, which provides UM students with first-hand experience in simulations and transatlantic relations.

Prior to this, I have been the manager of the Centre for the Study of International Governance at Loughborough University where I have obtained my PhD degree in EU Foreign Policy and Diplomacy in July 2018 within the Marie Curie Fellowship. My current research focuses on EU diplomacy and EU performance in ENP countries based on the ‘the practice turn’ in IR and EU studies approach. My academic trajectory allowed me to gain experience at universities in Europe and USA. I completed my research master degree (MSc cum laude) at Maastricht University and my bachelor (top 5%) at Moldova State University. Additionally I have spent 1 research year at the Jagiellonian University in Poland and 1 exchange year at the University of Georgia, USA. I was born and raised in Republic of Moldova.
