Joeri Bruyninckx and Alexandra Supper are the guest-editors of a special issue of the interdisciplinary journal Sound Studies: ‘Sonic Skills in Cultural Contexts: Theories, Practices and Materialities of Listening’. (volume 2:1)
Besides an introductory essay by the two guest editors, who both work at FASoS, the issue features a joint article by FASoS researchers Peter Peters and Darryl Cressman about the knowledge created in the course of twenty-first century efforts to construct a fifteenth-century organ, and a single-authored article by Alexandra Supper about the complex and ambivalent relationship between sonification research and visual culture.
