Joop de Jong to lead new research project on culture in Maastricht

Joop de Jong (Department of History) has been awarded a two-year grant by the city of Maastricht for research and development of a tool for monitoring the intrinsic value of the cultural production in the city, and for monitoring the social value of culture in Maastricht.

This so-called ‘cultuurscan’ encompasses arts and heritage and both the professional and amateur arts. The ‘cultuurscan’ is part of the programme Innovation Calendar for Culture (Innovatiekalender Cultuur Maastricht) of the municipality of Maastricht, the main funder of this project of €191.747.

The research and development team consists of Anna Ellfers, Quirijn van den Hoogen (University of Groningen), Sandra van Helden, Ward Schoonbrood and is led by Joop de Jong.
