Lecture Europa na de Brexit, on Thursday 6 February

In this lecture, Caroline de Gruyter discusses the consequences of Brexit on Europe. What new alliances can we expect? What countries play the ‘new game’ best? Will the Netherlands be one of these countries?

When: Thursday 6 February, 20.00 – 21.45
Where: Franz Palmzaal, Tongersestraat 53

Please note: the lecture is in Dutch.

The entire political game in Europe changes after Brexit. The liberal ‘nordics’ and countries that don’t use the euro lose an important pillar in Brussels, while France and Germany will become more dominant in the European sphere. Directly after the British referendum in 2016, many countries started looking for new coalition partners. The consequences can be observed already: shifts in balance of power, unusual alliances and moderate stances.

This lecture is organised by Studium Generale and Studio Europa.
