NWO Veni grants: call for proposals

Are you a talented young researcher? Did you defend your PhD thesis no more than three years ago? Would you like to become an independent researcher? Then consider applying for a Veni grant. The Veni funding scheme is targeted at outstanding researchers who have recently obtained their PhD degree. The call for Veni applications is expected to open in early November and the deadline for applications will be in early January 2017.

The Veni scheme is open to all disciplines and is focused on innovative and curiosity-driven research. Successful Veni candidates are at the start of their academic career but have already demonstrated a striking talent for doing scientific research. The Veni grant covers salary costs and non-staff costs up to a maximum of € 250.000 for a period of three years. Your funding advisor can assist you with your application. Please contact him/ her if you are thinking of applying.

An information meeting on the Vernieuwingsimpuls funding scheme, which includes the Veni call, will be held at NWO in the Hague on November 4. Info and registration via the NWO website.

For more information on the call, please check the Veni call website (note: information is expected to be updated early November) and/or contact Merle Achten, your funding advisor.

In addition, please note that the UM organises the Grants for Individuals training, which aims to support young researchers in writing their first individual grant (such as Veni or Marie Curie) twice a year: in Spring and in Fall. If you are interested in participating, please contact your funding advisor.
