Positive advice QANU audit panel on AC programmes’ Improvement Plan

The QANU audit panel that visited our AC programmes last year, has issued a positive advice this week to accreditation organisation NVAO regarding our AC programmes’ Improvement Plan.  The formal approval of the Improvement Plan lies with the NVAO. This decision is expected in June 2014.

The QANU audit panel has sent both the AC programmes’ Improvement Plan and the panel’s positive advice to NVAO. The panel indicated that it highly appreciates the programmes’ thorough approach in tackling the observed problematic issues. The panel’s main concern was the lack of academic thinking presented in some final work and, as apparently these theses passed, the quality assurance of the final work procedure.

The QANU audit panel considers the already implemented as well as proposed measures undoubtedly effective. The enhanced focus on training in academic skills in parallel to the academic content of the modules should result in students producing theses at adequate academic level. Furthermore, the panel is convinced by the properly strengthened final work procedure.
