Seminar: ‘What journal to publish in’ by UB on 21 October

The University Library (UB) is organising a seminar on Wednesday 21 October 2015, 10.00-12.00 on the topic: ‘What journal to publish in: increasing your academic and societal impact’. Speakers will go into the criteria and tools that will help you to choose the right journal to publish in and new ways to increase the (societal) impact of your paper(s). Register before Monday 12 October. Max. 75 places available.

In addition, there will be several stands with practical tools and services related to criteria for choosing a journal, provided by the University Library.

  • How regional and national newspapers help you to increase your visibility and –societal- impact (speaker to be announced)
  • Which journal to publish in – Jos Franssen (information expert, University Library)
  • Increasing your visibility: possibilities via commercial journals: an example – Wim van der Stelt (Vice President Publishing Strategy, Springer)
  • Altmetrics: research impact via social media, opportunity or risk? Rodrigo Costas (information science and bibliometrics, CWTS Leiden)
  • Tools and services market (University Library)
