Studium Generale lecture: Why Europe must Become a Republic
Speaker: Prof. Ulrike Guérot, Professor of European Policy and the Study of Democracy, Donau-Universität Krems, Austria
Tuesday 13 March, 20.00. Auditorium, MBB 4-6. Free entrance.
Europe is in the midst of its deepest, perhaps life-threatening crisis, as growing populism and renationalisation put the European project under great strain. Ulrike Guérot offers a fresh, cultural and comprehensive look at Europe, the crisis of the EU and how the continent could and should be in the 21st century. She sketches out a political utopia, which leads to a complete reconstruction of the European policy– organised as a European Republic.
