FASoS subscription to Project Muse’s Current Collection

The FASoS Library Committee is pleased to announce that it has subscribed to Project Muse’s Current Collection. This specific collection comprises 355 journal titles of non-profit publishers, in humanities and social sciences. Officially, UM access starts on Sunday 1 January, but the service is already accessible now. Please find the service here.

The Library Committee is convinced that these journals will be very useful for research purposes, and teaching as well. In fact, subscribing to Project Muse was a long-standing wish of many faculty members, and also includes several journals that had been cancelled some years back due to budget cuts.

The Faculty Board has agreed to increase the budget for library purposes for 2017. Therefore, the subscription will be a one-year pilot, and will be evaluated halfway 2017. Depending on the usage and available resources, a decision will be taken as to prolonging our subscription.

The Library Committee would like to thank the departmental chairs for their support, and the Faculty Board for agreeing to this pilot.
