The winner of the Tiny Innovation Award 2019 is…

With two ideas ending in a shared first place, the award committee is happy to announce the Tiny Innovation Award 2019 winners:

Joeri Bruyninckx and Bernike Pasveer, assistant professors at the Department of Social Sciences, with their idea “Books of fiction: a common library of works of literary fiction in a common room” and Simone Gavazzi, Bachelor Arts and Culture student, with his idea “Chess Table”.

The Faculty Board and Faculty Council have decided on combining both ideas and will create an outdoor space with a weatherproof bookcase (‘little free library’), chess table, other tables and chairs, for the staff and students to relax and read.

Several non-winning ideas will be implemented too!

The Faculty Board and Faculty Council would like to thank everybody for sending their ideas.

Invitation: Create your own FASoS Little Free Library

Are you handy and creative and would you like to (help) create a little free library? Please contact Sabine Kuipers or Vincent Cordewener if you do.

For examples of a little free library see Pinterest; for building instructions see the Little Free Library.

The idea is to use as much recycled or found materials as possible. Nevertheless, the faculty will sponsor the material you need (wood, paint etc). The location(s) is (are) still to be decided, but we are open to suggestions.
