UM Employability webpages live

We are very proud to announce the launch of the new student employability webpage, which lists all employability-related opportunities on offer for UM students in one place. It is one of the results of Maastricht University’s Employability Programme, which aims to support our students prepare for their future careers. The webpage was launched at the Employability Inspiration & Improvisation Day on 8 Nov.

On the same day, two other employability-related webpages were launched: the employability homepage with our vision on employability and information about the UM Employability Programme, as well as a landing page for companies to facilitate better connections between potential employers and our students. The current student employability webpage was designed in the build-up to a one-entry digital environment within the Student Portal, to be launched in the next academic year. With this employability portal, students can navigate the options based on their personal profile, peer suggestions, and expert advice.

Developing highly skilled, resilient, and employable graduates
Employability is a strategic focus point for Maastricht University. We are committed to developing highly skilled, resilient, and employable graduates, and to equip them with the academic knowledge and competencies they need for the successful transition from university to employment. We give them the right mind and skill set for landing their first job and for developing their career in the long run. We do this by giving students ample opportunity to develop employability competencies. These range from academic expertise and skills to self-awareness, adaptability, social responsibility and a ‘life-long learning’ attitude. Students acquire these skills through our problem-based learning model, our international classroom, and our high-quality educational programmes.

We are very pleased with these first steps towards the establishment of the Centre for Student Employability at UM. Therefore, we encourage you to share the opportunities that are now presented on our new employability webpages with your students and external stakeholders.
