UM Vidi workshops 2018 – new registration procedure

Do you have between 3-8 years of experience since your PhD, have a good track record and are you looking for funding for your research ideas? Are you (planning on) writing a Vidi proposal to submit in October 2018? Could you use some feedback and discussions with experts (and fellow applicants)? Do you want to discuss the best way to present your CV or any other part of your proposal?

Then Vidi workshops could be of interest for you!

For researchers applying for a Vidi grant, UM-wide workshops are held, facilitated by an external trainer. These workshops supplement the general Veni/Vidi information session that was held at the end of May. For researchers who are interested in receiving feedback and advise on his/her proposal, in depth workshops are offered. These will be held on:

Wednesday 12 September (13.00 – 17.00) and Thursday 20 September (9.00 – 13.00) for proposals within the Life/technical sciences. For proposals within the Social sciences, these will be help on Thursday 13 September (9.00 – 13.00) and Wednesday 19 September (13.00 – 17.00). Participants will attend one of these sessions.

The workshops are only open to researchers who have basic knowledge on the Vidi programme. In each workshop there is room for 5 participants, therefore a selection may need to take place.
In preparation for the workshop, each participant needs to have written a complete proposal review the proposal of 2 fellow participants.

The registration procedure for the workshops has changed. As of this year only researchers that have a complete proposal ready on August 31 can participate. So if you are interested in applying for a Vidi proposal, save the workshop dates for your discipline and contact your funding advisor. He/she can help you check your eligibility and the match between your idea, your CV and the funding programme. After this check and when you send in your proposal to your funding advisor by August 31, your funding adviser will register you for participation. You will hear by September 3 if you can participate in the training.

For more information on the workshops and the Vidi scheme, contact your funding advisor.
