Seminar: ‘Measuring your Impact’
Nowadays your research impact (assessment) goes beyond the traditional impact factor of journals and citation counts. The Maastricht University Library kindly invites you for this seminar where you will learn more about how your work is being received, used and disseminated across scholarly platforms and social media networks.
Three speakers are invited:
• Jos Franssen (library): “Impact measurement: options, trends, problems & pitfalls”
• Mike Bushman (EBSCO): “ Plum Analytics: measuring research impact”
• Egon Willighagen (BIGCAT/FHML): “ORCID-ID: a persistent digital identifier to distinguish yourself”

Lunch meeting: ‘Facilitating research collaboration – Virtual Research Environment’
The Library facilitates collaboration via the VRE based on SharePoint for some years now; in this meeting the functionalities of the platform, experiences from researchers and the position of the VRE in the landscape of freeware tools like Dropbox and Research Gate will be addressed.

Seminar: ‘Open Access: what use for the researcher’
Open Access of scientific content is hot nowadays, not only the Secretary of State in the Netherlands, Funding Agencies in the Netherlands and abroad but also lots of scientists (for instance the ‘Science in transition’ movement) demand free access of –at least publicly funded- research outcome. In this seminar open Access will be discussed from several perspectives:
Nanne de Vries (FHML): general introduction
Ron Dekker (NWO): a national / funding perspective;
Vanessa Proudman: international developments and good practices;
Gerjo Kok (FPN), Peter Schotman (SBE): local / disciplinary developments
Coen van Laer (UB): possibilities of the Green Road and the UM repository

Seminar: ‘Datamanagement: what is in it for me?’
Programme in preparation; elements are:
