
Dr Klaartje Peters will give her inaugural speech as extraordinary Professor on the Special Chair ‘Local and Regional Governance’ at FASoS on Friday 14 March 2014. All staff members are kindly invited to attend her speech, which will be given in Dutch. The event will take place in the Aula at the Minderbroedersberg at 16:30. Drinks will be served afterwards.
Per 1 November 2013 Dr Klaartje Peters has been appointed extraordinary Professor on the Special Chair in Local and Regional Governance, based in the Department of Political Science. It is a part-time appointment (1 day per week).
The main purpose of the Chair is to develop and strengthen the relations between the academic community and actors involved in local and regional governance in the Euregio, the Netherlands and throughout Europe.
Klaartje Peters (1969) works as an independent researcher, lecturer and author in the field of politics and governance. She focuses her empirical research on new governance arrangements and patterns of decision-making at the local and regional level.
Klaartje Peters is involved in several training programmes for civil servants and politicians at different government levels. She is also Chair of the Court of Audit of the municipality of Maastricht.
