On 4 May, an article by FASoS PhD-candidate Ilse Raaijmakers appeared in de Volkskrant. For several years now, a debate has been going on regarding the question who the Dutch are supposed to commemorate on 4 May (National Remembrance Day). Ilse reacted to the debate by showing some results of her own research into the national commemoration days of the Second World War in the Netherlands.
