Anique Hommels awarded NWO/JPI Urban Europe grant

Anique Hommels has, together with Marc Dijk (Maastricht Sustainability Institute), been awarded a research grant for the ‘Embedterlabs’ project by NWO/JPI Urban Europe.

The project is supported by a consortium consisting of universities, municipalities and urban stakeholders.

Cities are increasingly experimenting to achieve climate and sustainability goals. At the moment, these projects often have little impact. EmbedterLabs develops an approach that better links experimentation with policy and learning processes, thus triggering urban transformation more effectively. The project initiates three urban sustainability co-creation experiments in Gdansk, Stockholm and Maastricht and explores ways in which these experiments can become better embedded in these cities.

The project falls under the ERA-Net Urban Transformation Capacities scheme and will start in April 2022.
