To finalise the academic year of 2021/2022, FEM is happy to announce that their Annual FEM Event will take place on Tuesday 7 June 2022.
The topic is the focus on “helpers” and “doers” and the role of service workers in Academia.
This year’s edition will be in person in the Bonnefanten Museum of Maastricht. Please register in advance here.
What does it mean to be a good citizen of your organisation? Is it just about doing your work well, or does it also imply making sure that things run smoothly, and that there is a collegial culture in which you are actively taking part? Does UM reward academic citizenship (enough)? What are the consequences for the career of those who engage in more service work?
These are some of the questions that will be discussed on 7 June. In one afternoon, get introduced to the topic by our guest speakers – Rector Magnificus Pamela Habibović and Dr. Luana Russo – and give your input via a panel discussion welcoming different actors having a role to play in Service Work at Maastricht University.
The day will end with a reception, where you will get the opportunity to network with fellow colleagues, amid nice drinks and bites.
FEM (Female Empowerment Maastricht) is a network of staff working towards the empowerment of women at university, focused on both academic and administrative fields. Their aim is to promote female leadership, while also striving for a culture of gender equity and equality within the UM community. To realise these goals, FEM is involved in different missions – from organising trainings, workshops and events, to writing relevant publications or guides.
