The Synergy Award 2020 is awarded to a PhD candidate who has the most exciting idea towards impact on society. A selection of candidates will get the opportunity to improve their idea and ‘pitch’ in interactive sessions during the conference on 6 February.
The winner of the Award will receive €2500 to be used for realisation of the idea.
To apply, download the form and send it to synergy2020@nwo.nl before Friday 6 December, 14.00.
The idea could be anything from a short movie, a new tool, an improved process, a public performance, a report or activity helping to raise awareness in specific communities or institutions or a multi- or transdisciplinary exchange or an article in popular media.
- The idea should stem from your PhD work
- The idea should not be a finished product
- The idea should involve steps towards its realisation after the Synergy 2020 event
- The applicant should be a PhD candidate or have obtained his/her PhD no more than 6 months ago (after 6 May 2019)
In your application, please describe the focus of your PhD research, your idea for impact, which societal challenge your idea relates to and how it stems from your research (max 800 words).
