Arjan Schakel launches two books at VU Amsterdam on 9 June

Arjan Schakel of Maastricht University will, together with Liesbet Hooghe and Gary Marks of VU University Amsterdam, present two books on Thursday 9 June at the VU University Amsterdam. The two books, ‘Measuring Regional Authority‘ and ‘Community, Scale and Regional Governance‘, are the first publications in the new series Transformations in Governance published by Oxford University Press.

Imke Harbers (University of Amsterdam), Markus Haverland (Erasmus University Rotterdam), and Hans Keman (VU University Amsterdam) will be discussants.

‘Measuring Regional Authority’ sets out the first comprehensive measure of regional authority (RAI) that can be used to investigate the character, causes, and consequences of governance within the state.

‘Community, Scale, and Regional Governance’ explains how jurisdictions are designed, why governance within the state has become differentiated, and why regional governance has grown over the past six decades. The two books are the first publications in the new series ‘Transformations in Governance’ published by Oxford University Press. Imke Harbers (University of Amsterdam), Markus Haverland (Erasmus University Rotterdam), and Hans Keman (VU University Amsterdam) are discussants. More information about the event can be found here.

The books can be viewed on OUP: Measuring Regional Authority and Community, Scale and Regional Governance
