BA ES alumna and FASoS researchers publish blog on student choice

BA ES alumna Talisha Schilder and FASoS researchers Johan Adriaensen and Patrick Bijsmans have published a blog on curriculum flexibility and student choice on the higher education policy website Wonkh.

They find that, while “develop your own curriculum” is a catchphrase used by many universities, flexibility is not associated with higher student satisfaction.

This blog is a precursor of a paper on curriculum flexibility that Schilder, Adriaensen and Bijsmans are currently writing and which will be the culmination of Schilder’s earlier 5th semester research internship with Adriaensen and Bijsmans. They expect to present first findings during conferences this summer.

Schilder, Adriaensen and Bijsmans previously wrote about the project for Active Learning in Political Science. Schilder also wrote a project blog post for the FASoS Teaching & Learning Blog. Schilder is currently pursuing an MA degree at Leiden University.
