Wolfgang Beltracchi tricked the international art world for nearly 40 years by forging and selling paintings by early 20th century masters. The documentary ‘Beltracchi’ will be introduced by Prof. Hildegard Schneider, art law expert and dean of the Maastricht University Faculty of Law.

A mesmerising, thought-provoking yet surprisingly amusing documentary on the life and times of Wolfgang Beltracchi, a larger-than-life personality, who was responsible for the biggest art forgery scandal of the post-war era.
The screening is part of the “Fake It or Leave It” film series, in cooperation with The Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage.
