The 2006–2012 National Electoral Research publication presents quantitative information on the background of the electorate’s voting behaviour. It describes the views of voters on many political issues that had an impact on turnout and party preference during the 2006, 2010 and 2012 parliamentary elections.
Different electoral groups were examined, among them men and women, the low- and highly-educated, young and old, and supporters of various parties. Special attention has been paid to non-voters. Results are mainly from the three National Voters Researches carried out by the Central Statistical Office CBS in cooperation with the Dutch Foundation for Electoral Research (Stichting Kiezers- Onderzoek Nederland, SKON) at the time of the parliamentary elections of 2006–2012. The book also explores the structure and quality of these researches into voters’ behaviour.
