Following a successful book sale in March this year the FASoS Library Committee has examined a new part of the Faculty collection of books which are stored in the closed stacks of the University Library. The reasons for periodically scrutinizing the book collection are keeping the collection properly updated and addressing the problem of limited space in the library. The books now for sale have not been borrowed for seven years and are available in at least two other libraries in the Netherlands.
They do not belong to a special collection to which specific agreements and regulations apply nor are they part of a series within the existing collection. Close attention was also paid to national retention policy agreements. No books were removed from the Learning and Resource Centre.

The book sale will be held as from September 24 at Books4Life (Grote Gracht 80–82. Opening hours Monday to Friday 12.00-18.00 ). The books are available for €2 each and proceeds will go to Books4Life.
