Join Enactus Maastricht: Business for a better world

Industries generate more and more profit, while simultaneously problems such as child labour, world hunger and the climate crisis increase. Enactus Maastricht believes that social, environmental and business responsibilities do not have to be mutually exclusive. Join one of the information evenings on 13, 15 or 21 September and send your application to hr@enactusmaastricht.nl if you would like to join Enactus Maastricht, and follow us on Facebook.

We consume clothes, new phones and much more without considering that worldwide 168 Million children (Unicef, World Bank), what coplies the population of Bangladesh, are exploited to provide us with cheap goods. According to the Swedish Environmental Research Institute around 88 million tonnes of food are wasted annually in the EU, while the United Nations estimate that 11 percent of the world population suffer from hunger. Moreover, over 526 soccer fields rainforest are chopped down every hour (Ara) to gain more and more resources, which inevitably intensifies climat crisis.

Capitalism has been heavily criticised for creating an ever-increasing gap: You either are lucky and make profit or you ensure that those people continue profiting, while suffering yourself. Even our environment is sacrificed for more and more consumption and more revenue. This is how the world works, isn’t it?

We from Enactus, a worldwide organisation with over 69.000 students, think different. We believe that business and social, as well as environmental responsibility don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Therefore, we stand up for social entrepreneurship: Our members develop projects to have a positive impact on the environment and empower those in need. Only together we can create a better world, which is why we want to encourage everyone to join our team, support our projects or implement their own idea together with Enactus Maastricht.

Whoever is interested in joining us can meet us during our information evenings:

– 15 September, Maastricht University Faculty of Law, room c0.311 b
– 21 September, Maastricht University Faculty of Law, room b0.115
