Business trips to risk areas during the corona pandemic

Requests for necessary business trips to a country within the EU that the Dutch government has indicated to be an ‘orange country’ can temporarily be handled by the director of the faculty via email. For the time being, it is thus not necessary to hand in a permission form with the Executive Board.

The director of the faculty will only grant permission for the business trip if it is absolutely necessary and when the trip cannot be postponed. Please keep in mind when planning your trip the 10-day quarantine period the UM maintains.

In case you go on a business trip to a country or area that has been indicated with an orange or red colour by the Dutch government, you are obliged to register your business trip with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs via 24/7 BZ Informatieservice. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can then, in case of an emergency, contact you and offer help when needed.

When you wish to make a business trip to a country with a red colour-code within Europe or with an orange/red colour code outside of Europe, you do still need permission from the Executive Board, in line with the rules laid out here. On top of that, you are also obliged to register your business trip with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
