Applications for the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)’s Research Development Fund (RDF) are now open. Researchers can apply for a grant (maximum 10,000 British Pounds) to support a research cooperation with colleagues from at least two other WUN member institutions. If you are interested in applying as principal investigator of a project, kindly submit your idea before 20 September 2019.

The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is a leading global higher education and research network made up of 23 universities, spanning 13 countries on six continents. Through its Research Development Fund WUN supports the establishment of collaborative research that falls within four themes:
- Responding to Climate Change
- Public Health (Non-Communicable Disease)
- Global Higher Education and Research
- Understanding Cultures
Since WUN member universities may support only two applications in which its academic staff is Principal Investigator (PI), the UM’s WUN Coordinator is currently welcoming ideas for proposals. From these ideas, two will be selected and these two ideas can be developed into full proposals.
- UM internal deadline for submitting ideas for proposals: Friday 20 September 2019
- Communication of the result of the selection: Tuesday 1 October 2019
- WUN application deadline: 31 October 2019
In 2018, Maastricht University was rewarded RDF funding to lead two projects as principal investigator (PI), and participated in two projects led by partner universities (University of Alberta and Bristol).
