Professors in the Netherlands are invited to nominate postdoctoral researcher candidates for the Niels Stensen Fellowship. Candidates must be socially committed and must demonstrate this commitment in a paper on how their research relates to society. The fellowship is open to all academic disciplines. The deadline for nominations is Sunday 1 May. The deadline for full applications is Wednesday 15 June.
Please note that the following criteria must also be met:
• Candidates must receive their Ph.D. at a Dutch university in the period between 15 June 2015 and 15 June 2017 (final approval of their thesis must be granted no later than 31 December 2016).
• Candidates must be socially committed and must demonstrate this commitment in a paper on how their research relates to society.
• The research project must be carried out at a well-known university or institute abroad, where the candidate has not on an earlier occasion done research or studied.
• The research project must start between 1 December 2016 and 1 October 2017.
• The research project must take at least nine and at most twelve months.
Being catholic is no longer a requirement.
The grant is intended to finance the cost of living, accommodation, travel and any ancillary expenses incurred abroad rather than the cost of the research as such.
