Call for researchers – NWO Bessensap

On Friday 15 June 2018, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Dutch association for Science Journalism and Communication (VWN) will jointly host Bessensap in Amsterdam. To help shape the programme, the NWO is looking for researchers who are interested in presenting their own research to a large audience of science journalists, communicators, and other interested parties. Submit your proposal by email by Friday 30 March.

Each year, Bessensap brings together over 400 journalists, educators, and researchers under the motto ‘Science meets the Press’. We are calling on all interested UM researchers to submit their proposals.

NWO
The NWO is looking for researchers who have made their mark on the scientific community and can present their field of expertise with passion and authority. The NWO also welcomes talented young researchers who are conducting promising research in their fields. The presentations should have a current, newsworthy, and media-friendly angle. Examples of topics include recently research findings or anticipated results, new scientific insights, and new research directions. NWO is also looking for speakers to present a more general update on their discipline.

Proposal submissions
A presentation at Bessensap lasts fifteen minutes, followed by a five-minute question and discussion round. Presentation proposals (max. 200 words) must be submitted by email (bessensap@nwo.nl) by Friday 30 March 2018.

For questions or help with your proposal, please contact Margot Krijnen (UM Press Office) by email at margot.krijnen@maastrichtuniversity.nl or via tel. (043-38)85230.

More information about Bessensap and the guidelines for submitting the proposal can be found on the Bessensap website.
