The Institute of Data Science at UM invites submissions of posters highlighting innovative and impactful on-going research projects that have data science components to tackle key problems of societal relevance. This poster session will be held during the pre-Dies event “The Future of a Data-Driven Society” on 25 January. Submissions are open to all PhD students and postdocs at Maastricht University. Submit an abstract before 17 December.
The session will provide an opportunity to showcase your on-going and innovative projects to the data science community and wider circles of researchers. The informal setting of the poster session will encourage presenters and participants to engage in discussions about presented work. Such discussions can be invaluable inputs for the further development of presenters’ work, while offering them effective ways to enhance their knowledge on emerging research trends and network with other researchers in the UM community.
Submission Guidelines
Please submit an abstract of not more than 250 words. The abstract must include:
- Main objective of research (what is the research problem?)
- Significance of the problem (why is the problem worth solving?)
- Research plan/methodology (how is the problem addressed?)
- Innovation in the research (what is new – method, data, approach?)
- Anticipated results along with short- and long-term benefits
