UM’s Visiting Writer, Dr Caoilinn Hughes’ debut novel Orchid & the Wasp sold at auction to U.S. publisher Hogarth (an imprint of Penguin Random House), to Oneworld in the UK (publisher of 2016’s Booker winner, The Sellout), and French rights have sold to les Éditions Bourgois. Expected publication date is Spring 2018. Also, last week BBC Radio 3 aired the 8-minute poem Hughes was commissioned to write for their 70-year anniversary.
